Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait ben Haddou- Zagora Desert

Your journey starts early in the morning from Marrakech. Traveling by comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, you will head south towards the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass, which rises over 2,260 meters (7,415 feet). During this drive, you will make several stops to appreciate the dramatic mountain views and visit traditional Berber villages where you can observe local life and craftsmanship.

Your guide will share valuable information about the history, culture of the region, providing a deeper understanding of Morocco’s diverse landscapes and people. Midway, there is an opportunity for refreshments and a break in a local town. Continuing the drive, you will arrive to the village of Ait ben Haddou where you will have a stop to Explore the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a famous filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Continue through Ouarzazate and then descend into the Draa Valley, known for its lush palm groves and ancient kasbahs. The valley serves as a natural border before reaching Zagora, a key gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival in Zagora, you will prepare for a camel trek into the desert dunes.

The camel ride, lasting approximately 1 hour, takes you to a traditional Berber desert camp. The camp is fully equipped with tents offering basic comfort and clean facilities. Here, you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner featuring local specialties. As night falls, experience the tranquility of the desert under a clear sky.

Day 2: Zagora Desert – Draa Valley – Return to Marrakech

After breakfast at the camp, you will take a short camel ride back to Zagora village. From there, you will begin your return journey to Marrakech.

On the way back, the route follows the Draa Valley once again, offering further chances to admire date palm groves, ancient fortifications, and small Berber settlements. Stops will be made for photography and refreshments.

You will also have the option to visit a local market or cooperative where traditional Moroccan products such as argan oil and handmade crafts are produced.

Arrival back in Marrakech is scheduled for the late afternoon or early evening, concluding the tour.
